Dr. Yu Liang Huang, PhD
Dr. Huang is a graduate of the East China University of Science and Technology. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in 1984 and 1987 respectively. He was conferred Ph.D. at the National University of Singapore in 1995 for his research in Chemical Engineering.

Dr Huang has extensive biotech experience in Germany having spent two years at the German Biotechnology Center (GBF) specialising in high cell density fermentation and process monitoring and control. Between 1995 and 2001, he was also Associate Director for the Ohio Bioprocessing Research Consortium responsible for business development and process product development. Between 2001 and 2004, he was the Chief Technology Director of Hong Kong 19. Pharmaceutical (HKP), a publicly listed company. He took up the present post of CTO at BCT in late 2005 and is responsible for the technology development of BCT-100 as well as pre-clinical studies as per SFDA IND requirements leading to the submission of US FDA IND.

Dr. Thomas Lo, PhD
Dr. Thomas Wai Hung Lo is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology Department of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and an Adjunct Professor at the Zhong Shan University, PRC. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from M.I.T., and his Ph.D. from Purdue University. He teaches and conducts research in the areas of biochemical engineering/technology and environmental biotechnology. He and Dr. Thomas Leung have been the scientific officers for BCT since 2001.

Dr. Thomas Leung,D. Phil (Oxon)
Dr. Thomas Leung is an Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology of the Hong Kong Polytechnics University. He is a graduate of Imperial College of the University of London where he obtained his B.Sc. degree in Biochemistry in 1990. He later studied at Oxford at the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology and Oxford Centre for Molecular Sciences where he obtained his PhD. His interests include mechanism of beta-lactamase action, construction of hybrid enzymes, bio-sensors, molecular actions of protein drugs, protein engineering and folding as well as production of industrial enzymes with Bacillus subtilis and E coli.

Dr Leung made significant contribution in the delineation of the molecular mechanism of arginine depletion and has been in charge of the scientific development of BCT-100 as a potential drug candidate.
